Lucille Dweck
As a woman growing up in a misogynistic era I always felt misunderstood or overlooked. I surmised that if I could use another language maybe I could be heard nonetheless.
Painting light, water, figures, symbols and the natural world using densely knitted marks I create canvases that invite you to enjoy natures beauty while immersing you in the mood of the moment.
A mood that points to the truth of my humanity that I invite you to share .
My paintings are deeply personal, using myself or family members as motifs to describe a moment of union in nature or a moving experience that can be shared universally.
